Pastor Sean is a native New Englander, born in and reared all over the small state of Rhode Island. After graduating high school, he joined the Army and served overseas for three tours in Korea. After leaving active duty, he joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard, where he met his wife, Selena, who was also serving in the National Guard. It was during this time that both Sean and Selena accepted Christ as Savior. After moving to New Hampshire with their son Maverick in 2004, Sean served as a police officer for ten years.
While under the discipleship of Pastor Laurence Brown of First Baptist Church in North Conway, NH, the Lord called Sean to be a pastor. After seven years of training and two years of assistant pastoral ministry under Pastor Brown, Sean was unanimously ordained in 2013.
After years of praying to expand their small family, God brought three little boys into their lives. Pastor Sean and Selena were able to adopt David, Michael, and Jonathan, who are precious gifts.
God then moved the Cowlands to the beautiful state of Maine where Pastor Sean is now ministering to the First Baptist Church of Harrington and the people of the community.
Pastor Sean is committed to the equipping of his church family and preparing them to meet the Lord face to face. His approach to the Scriptures is literal and expository, holding to the fundamentals of the faith. He loves shepherding God's people by teaching and growing spiritually with them.
